And here’s “the rest of the story” from our big Video 3.o “It’s Your Story” event held last week….
We kicked off the evening by welcoming everyone to the conversation and introduced the panelists: Veronica Belmont, Host of “Dear Veronica” on Engadget; Chris Painter, Director of Product for GoPro; Allison Gay, Filmmaker for Airbnb, and Magisto CEO Oren Boiman. Before the conversation commenced, each panelist explained why video storytelling is changing the way people interact with the world.
Speaking on behalf of Magisto, CEO Oren Boiman touched upon the unique stories that each of us carries inside. Video is the best way to release these ideas that are in our heads and Magisto’s technology makes it easy for anyone to share their inner stories through video–on the go. GoPro’s Chris Painter provided adrenaline fueled moments and aerial views that adeptly embraced the GoPro moto, ‘This Is Your Life. Be Your Own Hero’, reinforcing the passion aspect of documenting your story through video.
This ability to use your device to role play as a hero, world traveler or director flowed seamlessly into the next guest speaker, Airbnb filmmaker Allison Gay. Lending a heartbeat to the evening, Allison spotlighted a film she created around a daughter who reconnected her father to a house he lived in when he was born, on another continent, decades ago. Now imagine for a moment if the daughter knew about this once in a lifetime coincidence ahead of time and was able to document those precious moments using her phone and Magisto technology. This is the future: unlocking the story inside all of us, magically, instantly.
