Meet Christian Beegen, co-founder and CTO of SumoLogic. He will be pitching at our 10.16 event. SumoLogic, as the name says, works on Big Data and finds data anomalies. Think of it as a smart threat detector. Here’s what Christian says about their inspiration and uniqueness:
“Experience having built a first generation tool in the same space throughout the 2000s, and realizing that this is really a Big Data problem, and hard to solve by just selling software to people and hoping they have the nerve to figure out how to scale it to the level needed to make for a good experience. Today, we do all this as service, which means our customers can focus on the value they get from our product, vs. having to spend all their time provisioning and managing even more infrastructure and storage.”
“It’s a service. Logs are a Big Data problem, and incumbent solutions haven’t embraced that reality. This leads to customers being worried mostly about systems engineering challenges, scaling, HA, DR, all for the solution that is supposed to monitor the stuff they already have. We are a cloud-based service and therefore allow our customers to actually focus again on the value they get from using the product. Also, we have a much better set of advanced analytical capabilities, such as our LogReduce feature, and automatic anomaly detection that helps customers greatly because it can tell them about questions they should be asking, and problems they might not even know existed, all from crunching their logs and machine data under the covers automatically.”
Come to our 10.16 event and find out how SumoLogic solves big data problems.
