Big Thanks to All who helped make SF New Tech’s Big (Endless) Summer Social a success!  

The day was a long time coming and when it arrived — it topped off the end of week with a bang!  

The photos tell the story:  Company founders, industry movers, tech shakers, money makers, media, and more, were among those who spread out across the Stonebrook Court estate deep in conversation on all-things-tech.

Here’s my heartfelt thank you to all who helped make it happen.  Let’s start with the fun stuff.

We rejoiced with ice cold craft beer from Widmer Bros, sense-tingling varietals from Cass Winery of Paso Robles, and buckets full of chilled Magner’s Irish Cider, to boot!

Honest Tea and Glaceau provided non-alcoholic bevies both sweet and tasty.  And Kicks Ice Cream came armed with organically awesome ice cream sandwiches for all — a perfect refresher in the hot Los Altos sun!

Of course, it wouldn’t be an SF New Tech event with out a taco truck pulling up! 

Yep — we brought El Tonayense, our regular and uberfamous taco truck from our regular events, down to serve up everyone’s favorite tacos (and more!).  And to spice things up a bit more, we also invited Curry Up Now to dish out their super yummy (and spicy!)  Indian-style tacos and finger lickin’ samosas.

Thanks to Kelly Porter, director of Woodside Capital Partners, the dude who owns the house, and to Joy Ajlouny who made sure all went down without a hitch.  Kelly, a friend and confidant, is one of the few "valley guys" I know who’s actually really making an effort to intimately connect with the SF tech scene.  There’s word that sometimes it’s hard for tech hipsters of the city to connect with tech titans down in the valley, and vise versa.   Rest assured, SF New Tech is trying to address this problem.  🙂

Thanks to Motorola who gave away the brand new phones!  Motorola says they had a great time at the event and appreciated the love everyone showed for the new Droid X. Thanks to Citi Private Bank and my old friend Steve Gold (HGHS’88!) who rallied the troops to see what all the SF New Tech buzz was all about.   I would personally be happy to introduce anyone who has an interest in innovative wealth building strategies to Steve who’s real good at that kind of stuff. 

Thanks to Terry Kelly, a partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP, the well-respected business law firm. Terry recognized a good time early on and was initially drawn to the Big (Endless) Summer Social so they could sponsor the beer…  Terry is a guy — and a lawyer — you want to know.

Thanks to David Lucatch, CEO of itiBiti Systems for not only giving away a brand new Slate tablet (Winner: @IdaRose) but for demonstrating how one shouldn’t forget the desktop in the delivery of content and communications, a place where you can actually drive engagement in ways you probably never dreamed of.

Thanks to our friends at CALinnovates.org, who are now quoting me when describing themselves.  "As Myles says," says Lane Kasselman, Executive Director, "we’re building a bridge from Sacremento to the valley…"  Can’t deny I’ve got a thing for bridge building!  And if there were ever a time for California politicians to learn from the economy-driving tech sector, it’s now… and CALinnovates is making it happen.

Thanks to Matt Perez and Marisol Ortega of Nearsoft who won the Big (Endless) Summer Social design contest with this beauty of a poster.  (Take a look at the famous poster from the surf classic "Endless Summer" from 1966… and you can see how we were inspired!)
