Meet Our Pitchers: Antony Brydon of Directly

SFNTBlogPic_Directly

Meet Antony Brydon, CEO founder and CEO of Directly who will be pitching at our 4/24 event.  True Ventures backed Directly helps you bypass inefficient customer service and go directly to the best experts in a company for help. Let’s see why Antony created this service:

”I worked for several years with customer service and call center startups that build the technology that drives you crazy by making it almost impossible to speak to someone smart and skilled. I even helped Sprint set their average hold times for broadband support at 11 minutes – yikes, I’m sorry!. When smart phones took off, I realized we finally had a platform to get around the bottleneck of the call center and connect customers directly to experts. “

Antony talks about how those experts are vetted:

“Experts authenticate company and industry experience via LinkedIn. Once they’re in the community and helping customers, they develop a reputation and helpful score based on how customers and other experts rank them. The best experts earn more tips and testimonials, the less helpful ones sink to the bottom and get limited interaction with customers.”

Meet Our Pitchers: Juan Benitez of Venmo Touch

SFNTBlogPic_VenmoMeet Juan Benitez, CTO of Venmo Touch who will be presenting at SF New Tech on April 24. Venmo Touch is an easier way to pay on your mobile device. Consumers save their credit card in one mobile app and can checkout across any other app in the network with just one touch. Here’s Juan’s take on Venmo:

“Venmo Touch was created to bring merchants and consumers together. More and more people are shopping on their mobile phones, but it’s a pain to type a credit card number on a tiny touch screen. With Venmo Touch consumers enter their credit card information one time in an app, that information is stored in the Braintree Vault, and can be used to complete any future purchases from merchants on the network. It’s a win-win for everyone because it increases the business’s conversion rates for mobile purchases as well.”

Visit their page below and check out the team page. Cool Gifs going on there.

Meet Our Pitchers: Massimo Arrigoni of Mailup

SFNTBlogPic_MailupMeet Massimo Arrigoni, CEO of Mailup who will pitch at our 4/24 Event.  Mailup demonstrates how an ecommerce merchant leverages customer data and gets a higher ROI:  using MailUp’s unlimited filters to create highly targeted and automated post-purchase messages. Massimo tells us why they created Mailup:

“MailUp started as a Web agency in Italy back in 2003. Clients kept asking for a good newsletter management system, so we built one “

Massimo tells us how different they are from a service like MailChimp:

“First of all, we’ve got our Italian roots, which show in things like beautiful, fashion inspired email templates (see above) and a very appealing admin interface.”

“Secondly, in MailUp you can create triggered messages (not just notifications) based on multiple conditions, something that cannot be done in a system like MailChimp and that can really make the difference in terms of sales. For example, an ecommerce store could automatically send a message to somebody that has purchased over $500 in the last year, but has not purchased in the last 90 days.”

Meet Our Upcoming Pitchers: Nathan Beckord of Foundersuite

SFNT_BlogPic_FoundersuiteMeet Nathan Beckord – Founder of Foundersuite who will be pitching at our 4/24 event. In a nutshell, this service helps founders with ”tools to get startup sh*t done.” Don’t we all want to get sh*t done. Nathan talks about the motivation for this service suite for startup founders:

“I’ve been advising and consulting to startups for the past 10 years on BD, Finance, and Ops; after solving the same challenges over and over again, I decided to productize this work into a SaaS startup called Foundersuite.”

“Foundersuite is based on the idea that the best startup founders focus on building product and making customers happy; we want to help with all the “other stuff” like planning, operations, fundraising, investor relations, etc.”

“Our goal is to: 1) Make complex tasks simple and easy; 2)  Streamline unpleasant tasks (like Turbotax does for filing tax returns); 3) Codify silicon valley best practices; and, 4) Bring process and structure to the messy job of starting a startup.”

The suite is in beta but I think if you reach out to Nathan, he can fix you up.

SFNTBLog_Songnote

Meet Our Upcoming Pitchers: Heidi Darling of Songnote

SFNTBLog_Songnote

Meet Heidi Darling – Founder and CEO of Songnote. She will be pitching us at our 4/24 event on their new app – Songnote. Songnote allows you to share a song with a hand crafted note. Heidi reflects on starting Songnote:

“Songnote began with the realization that there was no good way to let someone know when a song reminded you of them.  There were several music discovery services like Pandora and listening platforms like Spotify but there was no mobile tool designed to share the song that moves you.  The emphasis was on discovery and access not conveying sentiment.  Music is universally appealing and an incredible communication tool.  A fast, fun way to share a song+note from your mobile device, Songnote™ harnesses the power of music as a way to communicate.  Simply put, it lets your music do the talking.”

Check their app out at http://www.getsongnote.com | Follow them on Twitter @getsongnote | Like them on Facebook
