A Special Founder’s Feast Thank You!

A Special Founder’s Feast Thank You!

Here’s the thank you note I sent out to the attendees (see list below) of the Founder’s Feast and Poker Tournament that went down last week at Stonebrook Court.

This event was so much fun, we’re going to do it again.   If you’d like to get on the invite list, please click here.

Thank You!

Founder's Feast

Thank you sooo much for joining us at our first Founder’s Feast and Poker Tournament at Stonebrook Court this past Monday.    It was a long time in the making and we were thrilled to have finally pulled it off.   The weather presented some challenges but in the end, the evening was one for the ages and you were a large part of that… so thank you!

I’d like to extend my gratitude to…

Kelly Porter — the man behind Stonebrook Court.  Kelly opened up his private home to 80+ strangers in the spirit of fun and discovery.   Kelly is also a managing director of Woodside Capital, a boutique investment bank that’s keen on getting to know the start-ups of today that will be the talk of tomorrow.

Bob Crimmins — the man behind Poker 2.0 and the poker tournament.  Bob brought his poker prowess and his Seattle posse to the table and was responsible for ensuring the best possible poker experience… and he succeeded.

Amy Jurist — the amazing woman behind the yummy food!   Amy came all the way up from Los Angeles to cook her most-awesome culinary treats for us and she did not disappoint! (Hire her!)

Matthew Gonzales — my right-hand man.   Matthew was instrumental in helping me pull this off… I hope you got to chat with him ’cause he’s a real gem of an individual.

And I’d like to extend a big thanks to our sponsors for the evening…

The event will commence at the private residence of Stonebrook Court, an architectural masterpiece that has played host to presidents and kings, movie stars, and celebrities. Originally built in 1914, this magnificent home is one of the greatest estates in California. (Click here for more photos.)

World renowned landscape architect Stephen Suzman designed the majestic garden, which includes follies, rolling lawns, a focal point of a grassy Tudor mount, knot garden, boxwood parterres, and long perennial borders filled with roses. The pool features a stone fountain surmounted by an antique bronze statue of Neptune.

Dinner will be served at 6:30pm in the Grand Ballroom, which features 16th Century gilded Venetian ceiling paintings from the Palazzo Grimani.

Directly following dinner, the optional No-limit Texas Hold’em Tournament will commence.

The game will conclude by approximately 11:30 pm.

Participation in the tournament is completely optional. Those who wish not to play are encouraged to continue enjoying spirits and victuals with good company deep in to the evening.

At the end of the buy-in period there will be a $15 add-on. 100% of the player buy-ins will be distributed among the tournament winners and Bounties and Pot Sweeteners will be provided by event sponsors.

Top finishers will receive trophies and other awards. The blind payout structures will be announced at the start of the event.
